ActionAid International Italy. New e-commerce.
In this journey of growth and innovation, Purelab was chosen as a strategic partner for a special project: the creation of the online shop dedicated to solidarity gifts.
Purelab supported ActionAid in every phase, from listening to their needs to developing a platform that is not just an e-commerce site, but a true space for connection and sharing. Through needs analysis, personalized experience design, and tailored development, Purelab helped turn a simple gesture—a gift—into an act of participation that multiplies the impact of good.
This collaboration represents the meeting point between social vision and digital innovation: a clear example of how, together, we can build tools that create value, engage new people, and strengthen a network of solidarity that goes far beyond the screen.

Analysis and planning.
The website development was carried out in close collaboration with the ActionAid team, following an agile and cooperative approach. After an initial phase of gathering functional and technical requirements, we structured the entire workflow into iterative sprints, each focused on the release and validation of specific features. The technical design was based on selecting a flexible and reliable platform, capable of efficiently handling symbolic purchases and gift customization. Each development phase was supported by ongoing feedback sessions, allowing us to tailor the site structure to the actual needs of the end user and the feedback received.


UI / UX Design.
The website interface was designed to be warm, welcoming, and intuitive — perfectly aligned with the project’s humanitarian spirit. The user experience design started with an analysis of donors’ behaviors and needs: the goal was to minimize friction in the selection and donation process, focusing on content clarity and the emotional value of the gesture. We developed functional wireframes to structure the navigation flow effectively and then created a UI consistent with ActionAid’s visual identity, using a clean, readable, and conversion-oriented style. Every visual element — from gift cards to personalized messages for recipients — was carefully crafted to encourage interaction, enhance the storytelling behind the project, and deliver a digital experience that is both efficient and emotionally engaging.

E-commerce Development.
We handled the full technical development of the e-commerce platform, implementing a custom-designed theme, integrating donation and purchase features, and configuring a smooth, clear, and secure order process. The project was built on WordPress + WooCommerce, with each component tailored to meet the platform’s specific needs — from cart management to the creation of symbolic products, all the way to performance optimization and mobile compatibility.
